Repurposing ewaste to build a secure and AI-enabled programming environment for any device.

This homelab aimed to repurpose ewaste into a small, secure network to enable my devices for:

As per any homelab, this was mostly spurred by privacy and curiosity. When planning it, I prioritized power consumption to reduce the overall footprint of multiple devices. All of my devices that I want to provide these services to are on Tailscale to simulate a local network. Resource management became much easier once Proxmox came into the picture, and I still need to migrate one of my VMs to it. Below is a list of apps dedicated on each device:

Raspberry Pi ("fenzi" - "molecule")

Raspberry Pi 4 Model B running Debian. Fenzi has the lowest power consumption of all devices

Since PiHole alone carries a lot of traffic, I decided to mostly leave this node with that and reduce the overall power footprint.

Halo

A Mini PC with a Ryzen 5 3550H, a mid-range 25W TDP.

Angel

A notebook with a broken screen. Highest power consumption (for this lab) with a 65W charger.
